About This Game Border of her Heart is a VN about a town that recently had plague outbreak. With the quarantine lifted, you are tasked to work on the morning shift at the border and choosing who gets to enter or not. Because of the recent epidemic, you are short on both supplies and manpowers and have to pick only the best candidate and have to make choices who you let in. But beware, as not everyone is who they claim...This is a game where you guard the border gate that leads to a town. People want to enter, some want to leave. It would have been easier if you could save the game during the choice screen and I wish there was an easier way to turn the skip function on and off. The music, voice acting, art, grammar, and story are all good. This game didn't knock my socks off, but it is definitely worth a dollar or less. "Part 2 Please!". I am honestly surprised that this game has as many positive reviews as it does because I did not enjoy this game very much. The first flaw I found in this game was the writing and typos. There were several grammatical errors in the game, making it seem like whoever wrote the script was not a native English speaker. One of the characters is called the wrong name by the narrator as well. Another problem that many other people seem to be having is the loading screens. They take way too long and show up way too often, usually lasting several seconds and showing up anytime you talk to a different character. But by far the biggest problem I had with this game was that it became unplayable. After about day for or so, people stopped showing up at the border. When the day ended, the captain chewed me out for not letting anyone in, even though there was nobody to let in. This happened the next day as well, and I got a game over. I have no idea why this happened, and if it weren't for the other problems with this game, I might be inclined to find out. But as it stands, I find this game a poorly designed and poorly programmed mess that no one should spend any money on.. Played it, got quite a bit of the endings. Honestly, the game is too short. I don't like how short it is. I mean for a dollar game, I guess it's alright but I've seen longer games for free with decent plot. The plot of this is quite bland, it's pretty much the same thing, you go and see a couple of characters once or twice, sometimes three times, and it's just... Eh, not a huge fan of feeling like I'm railroad into a relationship with a character. There was also a huge glitch where if you don't make it a point to try and get with another character, the game does a loop of some sort. If you don't let certain characters in until the last minute, another day goes by and you have to repeat actions of the previous day. All in all, it's really buggy and I've seen free games that honestly, don't have this many glitches. I also had an issue where if all the characters who you allow in, end up coming into the town, you'll get kicked out after the second day. I'm not complaining too much, but when there is an achievement of dishonarably discharged, and you can't get it in any way shape or form... A little disheartening. I'd also like to see an achievement (because it's an option) of befriending the witch and becoming her mind slave.... And I'd like to see an option of romancing the thief since I couldn't seem to do that.Sorry, but I was trying so hard to get the last achievement, and I couldn't, and that frustrated me. Heck, it's a bit morbid that you get an achievement for killing one of the kids, but the game freaks when I don't romance someone on purposely trying to find some way to either romance the thief or get dishorably discharged but it never happens? Yeah, kinda don't like it when this is the first game I aimed to get 100% on achievements and yet I'm beating my head against the computer desk realizing that's now impossible.. Its an interesting idea, a shame its currently feeling like an unfinished game.You cant save the game before choices, and after less then a hour i have learned i cant load my save files.As far as the game goes, it is an interesting story, but the choices seems to random, only a couple real choices.Its pretty clear this is rookie attempt at a VN game, for its price its defintly worth checking out as i would not call it bad.But it defintly need some patching before i would call it good.I hope to change my review to positive after a update or two.. Border of her Heart is such a fun little VN game xD :D I'm not really all too familiar with the VN genre, but I did enjoy it, and the different outcomes that are possible depending on your choices. :)The voice acting in this game is really good! :O Accompanied by some neatly written dialogue and some sweet and quirky characters, it was a very fun experience. :) It is worth retrying to see different outcomes, too. :DI did kinda fail my guard duty at first try, because I let everyone in. xD :D Still, it was fun seeing that you get punished for not thinking well as a guard of the city. :)Conclusion: This game is really cheap and is worth the try if you want a sweet little VN game with good interactions and awesome voice acting. :D Though I sort of wish we can at least visit different places more before the curfew goes down. But it's just a tiny complaint. Other than that, it is fun! :). Character art is great, but the writing and story really hold this visual novel back. The load times between scenes are agonizingly long and really a deal breaker.. Good game, was fun to play. I played through all the routes I think. Kind of wish there was more to the game, more story, more character development. With all the relationships over a period of only a few days, you go to meeting someone new, to being as if you've been dating or have been best friends for at least a year and that makes the game feel rather unrealistic. I think the game could easily havea squal and I hope the developers might consider it with the same characters to follow up love interests. MAKE THE ROMANCES MORE IN DEPTH!! They were cute, but so fast it was unrealistic.
